Our Beginning
When founder, Bella Zito was working for some of the biggest players in the Australian fashion industry she noticed that it was time to make a difference. As she was enlightened to the negative impacts of production, she also noticed an undercurrent of brands working to improve practises and minimize their environmental footprint. There was an opportunity to unite these labels in one place, to share their story and lead an honest conversation about sustainability in fashion. Public Figure exists to do just that.
In 2019 Bella’s vision to bring together brands that place equal weight on style and consciousness came to life. Placing extra significance on nurturing emerging designers that are pioneering positive change.

We wholeheartedly support sustainability and innovation. We recognize that the traditional fashion industry model has placed a strain on our earth, its inhabitants and resources, therefore we aim to support those that are re-writing business and manufacturing constructs in order to find a better way for the future. We intend to set a new example for the industry by bringing together brands that are championing this change.

Anisah Nasir x Public Figure
This collaboration is so close to our hearts - being a labour of love between our founder Bella Zito & her long time friend and artist Anisah Nasir. Since the summer of 2019 we have produced the summer’s cult item in everyone’s beach bag. Our first exclusive collection of beach towels was loved by the likes of The Inspired Unemployed, Tash Oakley, Bianca Booth and Devin Brugman. Our second collaboration of zodiac Sarongs is now on sale.

You may notice that at Public Figure we don’t go on sale very often. We carefully select brands to partner with because we believe in the integrity of their product. To constantly offer markdowns on this undermines the value of the goods. Whilst we want sustainable style to be accessible and from time to time may facilitate intentional & relevant promotions, we wish to represent responsible spending & mindfully investing in quality additions.
